Adding Fiber

Dietary fiber is important to digestive health, and it also might help curb your hunger.

The American Heart Association reports that soluble fiber has been shown to help lower blood cholesterol when eaten regularly as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

Some research also suggests that those with a high fiber intake tend to have a healthier body weight.

Even kids can fall short of their recommended fiber intake. In fact, a national nutrition survey shows that most kids consume about half of the recommended amount of fiber.

Oats have the highest proportion of soluble fiber of any grain. The only leading corn-based cereal that delivers a good source of fiber, calcium and 8 grams of whole grain per serving is Kix. Our Fiber One cereal has more than half of the adult Daily Value of fiber in every serving.
